My name is Holden Fenhoff, and I am the owner and artist of Fenhoff Ironworks. I specialize in sculptural and architectural ironwork, with an emphasis on traditional techniques and aesthetic attention to architectural context. I have been blacksmithing since I was eight years old, due to the encouragement of my family. I am currently a student at the American College of the Building Arts, In the Senior year of the traditional ironwork program. I have a passion for forging metal art, which is fortunate since that is my chosen career path. A professor at my school recently asked my class why it is that we do what we do. My response was that forging was a part of me. I have been blacksmithing so long, and I have been so involved in the art that it has become a part of who I am I feel. All of that aside, my preferred style of art is a mix of art nouveau and gothic design philosophies: art Nouveau form with gothic elements and finials. on my portfolio page, it becomes quite apparent what that entails.
